Fencing Programs

If you already fence – our coaches can recommend the program best for you!

For schools and clubs who would like to tie-up with us, we can offer the below programs or tailor make a program to suit your requirements.


The Fundamentals of Fencing Introduces players to fencing and equips them to play the game with basic strategies. After this players can move to Competitive stream or Non-competitive stream (playing for fun).

Duration: 1-4 months (Based on classes per week and progress. May be completed in 1 month with 6 classes per week.)
Included:  free use of equipment needed including fencing sword, a Lame, a white jacket and breeches, mask, underarm protector, chest guards, body and mask cords, gloves.
Not included: knee high white socks. While gloves are provided, it is recommended that players use their own gloves.


Fencing Fitness Program (Non-competitive stream)

Players develop their technique, fitness and play for recreation.
Regular program Individual skills brush-up
Not included: all fencing gear needs to be your own.

Fencing to Win (Competitive stream)

This comprises of three levels:

(a) Intermediate Program
For serious fencers who want to play in competitions.
Duration:  1-3 years (Based on classes per week and progress. May be completed in 1 year with 6 classes per week.)

Not included: all fencing gear needs to be your own.
(b) Advanced Program
(c) Elite Program
Admission to the Advanced and Elite Program shall be by invitation only.


We are the only academy, to the best of our knowledge, in India that conducts fencing classes for both children and adults.

Our coaches in both Delhi and Gurugram are best in the business and our players in Guguram are winning medals just as well as those in Delhi!

Monthly batch options: 6,4,2 classes/ week. Weekend batch available.

FTRI Swordplay DLF Club5

Weekday timings: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 6.15 pm to 7.45 pm

Weekend timings: Saturday, Sunday – 7.30 to 9.00 am, 9.15 am to 10.45 am, 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm.


Monthly batch options: 6,3,2 classes/ week. Weekend batch available.


  1. Our Academy partner (DDA or DLF Club5) shall issue fee invoice/ receipt. A scan of the same shall be required to be submitted to FTRI.
  2. A list of holidays shall be separately provided on request. In case DDA requires the premises for any event or closes the complex on certain day(s), classes will not be held on those days.
  3. A maximum of 3 make up classes for classes missed or Club premises being not available in a month may be taken in the next month subject to availability of time-slots where classes are in progress. Make up classes due to absence of Coach may be in addition to the above limit.
  4. Dress code: Fencing uniform shall be required for bouts. Player shall wear sports shoes (for bouts and footwork – fencing shoes, badminton or tennis shoes), Sports T-shirt and shorts/ lowers (fabric may be mix of cotton/polyester/lycra. It is advisable to bring a hand towel and a bottle of water.
  5. Equipment: FTRI shall provide free use of playing equipment for the first 2 months to a player or for first 4 months for those taking 2 classes a week (only beginner program). Thereafter, player is required to bring his or her own equipment/ kit.
  6. FTRI and its Academy partner reserve the right to admission to the classes at their discretion.
  7. Indiscipline or mis-behaviour of any kind is strictly unwelcome. In an unlikely scenario, If you as a player or parent feel there is a problem – stop engaging and contact us.
  8. Parents may be permitted to wait for their wards in the training hall at the sole discretion of FTRI.
  9. All ages above 6 years can join subject to FTRI discretion.
  10. It is the responsibility of the players and their parent/ guardian to ensure that they attend classes only when they are physically fit.
  11. 10% of the classes are reserved for free coaching for players belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category at our DDA Academy. Decision of DDA and FTRI on the eligibility shall be final.

  13. Fees to FTRI DDA Academy for the month can only be paid in the beginning of the month (During 1-10th). There is a late fee per day after that. Advance payment is not taken by them. Please bring cash as the card machine at DDA is not working. You will need to fill in a undertaking form. You may do so when you come for first class or earlier!
  14. Fees to FTRI DLF Club5 Academy needs to be paid by the 25th of the preceding month. Only online payment is permitted. In addition to net banking, You can pay through debit and credit card at the Club5. Late fee is @100/- per day after the last date of the month. After 5th of the month to which the fee apply, additional registration fee @ 500/- shall be applicable.
